Pilgrims Choice the No 2 Cheddar brand, is unveiling for the very first time, its new and specially designed reclosable stay fresh packs - for greater convenience and maximum freshness - at Nantwich, the world's largest cheese show from 29-30 July.

Mike Davies, Managing Director of North Downs Dairy - which owns Pilgrims Choice, said: “We have taken our Pilgrims Choice packaging to the next level with our brand new reclosable stay fresh packs.

"The new packs have been developed after we conducted a major research programme which highlighted that consumers wanted and preferred reclosable packaging above all other packaging formats.

"Plus, the new striking, high quality packaging will ensure maximise impact on shelf whilst helping us build and form buying habits outside our loyal customer base.”

From the end of August, the whole of the Pilgrims Choice Cheddar range including Mild Cheddar – the newest flavour variant in the Pilgrims Choice Cheddar range will be introduced in the 400g reclosable stay fresh packs.

The Pilgrims Choice range offers a Cheddar to suit all tastes – from Mild, Mature Everyday, Lighter Farmhouse Mature and Medium Probiotic to Extra Mature, Farmhouse Mature and Vintage Farmhouse - making it ideal for all occasions – from everyday family use to the finest of cheese boards.

Mike Davies, concluded: “2008 will see the Pilgrims Choice brand realise its biggest support programme to date, with TV and consumer and trade press advertising and PR, a new recipe booklet and massive sampling programme in stores across the UK.

"We believe the investment will see sales of Pilgrims Choice escalate. It will also ensure the popular cheddar brand will continue to play a leading role in the cheddar category.”
